Skylar’s trip down NASHtoday memory lane

City Editor Skylar shares some favorite stories from her time with NASHtoday.

The thing I cherish most from my time with NASHtoday has to be my friendship with Dylan. | Photo by NASHtoday

NASHtoday City Editor Skylar here. Whether I was swinging from the rafters to tell you all about local trapeze classes, sipping wine in the creek with my mom, or testing the Monster Jam course at Nissan Stadium with Dylan, I get to say “I had the coolest job” for years to come because of you.

In fact, NASHtoday readers are what I love most about this gig. My look back at Opryland wouldn’t have had the same impact without your contributions. Your interest in reminiscing on businesses of Nashville’s past prompted most of our sister markets to write similar pieces in their cities. Plus, you’ve even been the star of the story, showcasing your talents.

One thing about our readers, you all have opinions. Your thoughts and feedback on the topics we cover each day continue to inform our content. Though I appreciate “Old Nashville” as much as the next person, it’s been an experience to have a front row seat as Music City has grown over the past three years. We share the same love for welcoming small businesses to town + you never hesitate to pitch your ideas for the future of Nashville properties when we ask.

All that to say, goodbyes are tough. I haven’t done the exact math, but I’ve written hundreds of articles in my time here, and I’ve had my fair share of fun on social media.

Don’t be a stranger. If you want to bump into me in the wild and say hey in the future, some of my favorite haunts include Preds games, an espresso martini at Le Loup, and a stroll around the Richland Park Farmers Market.
