You can see the biggest full moon of 2024 in Nashville this week

October’s full moon, aka Hunter’s Moon, will peak in the early hours on Thursday, Oct. 17.

Stake out a super view because Hunter’s Moon, the first of three full moons in fall, is also a supermoon.

According to Space.com, it will also be the largest moon of 2024, appearing ~14% brighter than usual. You’ve got to set your alarm clock — the moon will reach its peak at 6:27 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17. However, it arrives at its closest point to Earth the evening before at 7:48 p.m.

Keep an eye on your calendar for a chance to see two more upcoming full moons: Beaver Moon (Nov. 15 — also the last supermoon of the year) and Cold Moon (Dec. 15).
