East Bank development’s outdoor space to focus on 5 components

The East Bank’s future continues to evolve — this time, plans and new renderings shine a light on what the development’s outdoor area could look like.

Small groups of people walk along a stone path surrounded by flower beds and tree canopies. A portion of the walkway shows two wooden swing set seating areas and skyscrapers loom in the distance.

Family-friendly spaces. Green design. Connectivity. Accessibility. Retail, hospitality, and activation. The Fallon Company will focus on these outdoor components as it works on the first 30 acres of the East Bank.

The company is referring to this portion of development as the Public Realm Framework, a plan created with help from a design firm involved in NYC’s High Line. It calls for play areas and public plazas boasting seating, landscaping, tree canopies, and stormwater management features.

Developers aim to increase accessibility to the area by creating bike pathways that link East Nashville to downtown through an extension of the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. Speaking of connectivity, save the date for a public meeting on Thursday, April 24 to discuss the East Bank Boulevard project.

The Fallon Company anticipates a 2026 groundbreaking for the first phase of the development. For now, swipe through additional renderings of the planned public realm:
