Hold on to your beakers. The Adventure Science Center is going full steam ahead with new guest experiences.

The science center, which was founded in 1945 as The Children’s Museum of Nashville and now oversees 44,000 sqft of exhibit space, announced new initiatives this week. Beyond 75 calls for 15,000+ sqft of new and reimagined exhibit space over the next three years.

💫 What’s new

The good news? Visitors won’t have to wait long to see updates. This spring, guests will be able to experience the Infinium Room — a fully-immersive, permanent exhibit with mirrored walls, an interactive video floor + 360° audio. The exhibit will replace StarWalk on the second floor.

💫 What’s next

  • Recycle Rainforest | Fall 2022 | This 1800-sqft temporary exhibit is fully recyclable and will simulate a rainforest environment.
  • The Science of Climbing | Fall 2022 | The exhibit will allow guests to climb in groups of 12 while learning about the principles of anatomy, physics, and engineering.
  • Destination Exploration | Spring + summer 2023 | The science center’s dedicated area for explorers ages five and under will undergo a major renovation.
  • Jack Wood Hall | Spring + summer 2023 | This private space on the first floor will be fully modernized for professional meetings, special events, and birthday parties.
  • Health, Sports, and Human Performance | Summer 2024 | HSHP will replace BodyQuest with 9,500 sqft of new exhibits that allow for in-depth exploration of human performance. More details to come.

💫 Upcoming closure

After 12 years in operation, this is your last summer to walk on the moon at the Adventure Science Center’s MoonWalk. The exhibit will permanently close on Mon., Aug. 15 so that construction on The Science of Climbing can begin.

Planning a trip to the museum soon? Starting this Sat., May, 28, the Adventure Science Center will open one hour earlier at 9 a.m.
