The Frist Art Museum is bursting with even more color now thanks to a new interactive installation in the Martin ArtQuest space.

Created by Frank Kirk, a student at Watkins College of Art at Belmont University, the piece invites visitors to engage with the fundamentals of color theory through movement and silhouette.

Curious how it works? Step into the frame, and your silhouette will glow in a primary color. As others join, their silhouettes overlap with yours, creating vibrant secondary hues. The result is a living palette that’s as educational as it is playful, according to Kirk.

Pro tip: “Color Theory” is open to all ages and included with museum admission.
