East Nashville

Love & Exile, 715 Main St.
Bring your friends (or your pups) for happy hour in the courtyard from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and all night on Mondays. The covered booths offer some shade on those particularly sunny days.

Pearl Diver, 1008 Gallatin Ave.
This cozy neighborhood cocktail bar is all about tropical vibes. Gather your friends for a photo booth session, too.

Urban Cowboy Public House, 103 N. 16th St.
Attached to the boutique hotel is the rustic-inspired bar and patio where you can put in an order for Roberta’s Pizza.

Reunion Bar, 105 S 11th St.
Venture to the Five Points neighborhood for bites from New Berlin as you enjoy the two-level courtyard.

Curry Boys BBQ, 1304 McGavock Pk.
When you see the pink house in Riverside, you’ve found the right spot. The covered back patio featuring paper lanterns and a minimalist vibe is partially enclosed and open as weather permits.

South of downtown

Crow’s Nest, 2221 Bandywood Dr. (Green Hills)
This two-story sports bar offers an upstairs deck and patio. Don’t worry, there are TVs outside to watch the big game.

Urban Grub, 2506 12th Ave. S. (12 South)
Cozy up by the outdoor fireplace on cool summer evenings and grab a drink from the indoor-outdoor bar in the beer garden.

Greenhouse Bar, 2211 Bandywood Dr. (Green Hills)
Order soups, salads, and sandwiches from The Food Company and plant yourself in the greenhouse — just make sure that you’re staying on the front and back patios if you bring Fido.

Federales Tacos & Tequila, 636 Division St.
The open-air restaurant and bar serves seven shots in ice glasses, and after you’ve taken it, you can throw it to “ring the bell.”

Church & Union, 201 4th Ave. N.
If you’re looking for a casual yet refined dining experience in the middle of the hustle and bustle, take a seat outside and try the handmade braided ravioli.

Saint Añejo, 1120 McGavock St.
Convertible windows open the entire space to McGavock Street, and the elevated patio shares the indoor-outdoor bar.

Husk, 37 Rutledge St.
This upscale dining experience in a historic downtown mansion offers regional ingredients cooked on an ember-fired grill. The intimate patio is situated off the bar next to the restaurant’s gardens.

Luogo, 211 12th Ave. S.
Enjoy the restaurant’s changing patio installations — reservations are encouraged for patio dining, and walk-ins are seated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Upscale dining meets people-watching central at this steakhouse, which has a wraparound patio offering views of Division Street and 12th Avenue South.

Ophelia’s Pizza + Bar, 401 Church St.

Germantown + North Nashville

Butchertown Hall, 1416 4th Ave. N.

Otto’s Bar, 4210 Charlotte Ave.
This former auto shop turned cocktail and taco hotspot boasts a covered patio filled with picnic tables, barstool seating, and lots of lush greenery.

Bringle’s Smoking Oasis, 4901 Centennial Blvd.
This year-round patio offers a turf lawn, cornhole, big screens, and a rotating menu filled with barbecue bites.

Streetcar Taps & Garden, 4916 Charlotte Pk.
Take your pup and eat under the string lights at the outdoor patio’s picnic tables. Fun Fact: The restaurant operates out of what was once West Nashville’s first grocery.

Nectar: Urban Cantina, 206 McGavock Pk.
