5th + Broadway

In the works since 2012, Phase 1 of this mixed-used development from Brookfield Properties sits on the 6.2 acre site of the former Music City convention center — just across the street from the Ryman. The project officially opened March 4 and offers 200,000 sqft of retail and restaurant space, including Assembly Food Hall + 386 apartments, office space, and the new National Museum of African American Music.

Nashville Yards

Nashville Yards’ first tenant, Grand Hyatt Nashville, opened last fall — with much more on the way, including the first of two Amazon towers, which are slated for completion this summer. The 17-acre development on the edge of downtown will be fronted by a 1.3-acre park along the existing train tracks, and will also include 400,000 sqft of retail and entertainment space, including a brand new music venue.

BNA Airport Expansion

Construction on the airport overhaul continues. Dubbed BNA Vision, the project will include a new marketplace, on-site hotel, state-of-the-art international arrivals facility, a revamped main entrance + an expanded central terminal.

May Hosiery Co-Op

AJ Capital, which recently relocated its headquarters from Chicago to Nashville, is overhauling the 6-building campus of the old May Hosiery sock mill in Wedgewood-Houston. Look for construction updates later this year + read more on the history of this building in our NASHtoday coverage here.

The Landings at River North

The long-awaited first phase of Nashville’s expansive River North project — which seeks to transform 105 acres of the Cumberland River’s industrial east bank into a live-work-play destination — restarted construction last month after the city committed to funding infrastructure upgrades like roads.
