This will come as no curveball to fans, but the Nashville Sounds are back in action for Opening Day at First Horizon Park on Friday, March 28.

The schedule

Friday’s opener at 6:35 p.m. against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp will begin a three-game homestand.

Whether you call them heroes or legends, you can meet a few during Sunday’s game. “Sandlot” actors Shane Obedzinski (Repeat), Victor DiMattia (Timmy Timmons), and Grant Gelt (Bertram) will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and sign autographs on the concourse to raise money for Play Forever.

If you can’t make it, there are over 70 opportunities to visit the ballpark this season. View the full schedule + take note of these upcoming home games:

  • Memphis Redbirds (April 8-13)
  • Durham Bulls (April 22-27)
  • Norfolk Tides (May 6-11)

The promotions

Fans can expect recurring seasonal promotions, such as Tito’s Tail Waggin’ Tuesdays, Throwback Thursdays, and Friday Fireworks. Plus, it pays to get to select games early for the giveaways. The first 1,000 fans in the gates can snag a reversible UT blanket (April 12 + Aug. 27), a throwback windbreaker (April 23 + Sept. 10), a Rick Sweet bobble’stache (June 18 + Aug. 30), and more.

A decade of First Horizon Park

No one holds a candle to you, First Horizon Park. Opening weekend also kicks off a big milestone for the ballpark — 10 years as the home of the Sounds.

The venue, previously called First Tennessee Park, opened on April 17, 2015, following the team’s 37th and final season at Greer Stadium. Nearly 10,500 fans were cheering from the stands that day — a sellout crowd.

Pro tip: First Horizon Park has this helpful guide to prepare for game day — from parking instructions to an A to Z list of policies. Especially of note, First Horizon Park is a cashless facility, clear bag policies are in place + all ticketing is mobile.
