Parenting win. For those moments when “we have food at home” just doesn’t do the trick, leave it to these local businesses to step up to the plate and fill it with low-cost food options for kids on select days of the week.

💸 Free

Nicky’s Coal Fired | 5026 Centennial Blvd. | Kids pizza and pastas are free (ages 12 and under) every Monday with the purchase of an adult dinner for Nicky’s Family Night.

HoneyFire, 8127 Sawyer Brown Rd. | Kids eat free with the purchase of any tray on Tuesdays.

Streetcar Taps and Garden, 4916 Charlotte Pk. | Streetcar Family Day takes place all day on Mondays. Kids ages 12 and under eat free with their choice of cheeseburger sliders, grilled cheese, hotdogs, fries, and fruit.

Party Fowl | Kids eat free from 5 to 8 p.m. on Mondays.

TailGate Brewery | Multiple locations | This one’s a family favorite. Share a small cheese or pepperoni pizza with your mini Monday through Friday (11 a.m.-1 p.m.) for $8. Make sure you grab the lunch special card to get your 11th one free.

Nectar Urban Cantina | 206 McGavock Pk. | The four items on the kids menu ($6 and under) are served with your choice of sliced apples or tortilla chips.

The Grilled Cheeserie | 2003 Belcourt Ave. | Spend $7 and get a full meal (juice box included) with your choice of colby jack on country white bread, peanut butter and strawberry jelly, kids mac and cheese, or buttered macaroni noodles served with tater tots.
