Travel + Leisure Co. announced plans to open a Sports Illustrated Resorts property in Midtown next spring, citing the city’s packed schedule of pro football, hockey, and soccer games, along with our college sports scene.

The six-story development planned for McGavock Street will operate as a “vacation ownership property.” While it’s not yet clear how the setup will compare to a traditional hotel, the resort is expected to include studio to two-bedroom suites with full kitchens, an owner-exclusive lounge, and amenities like a pool, fitness center, and dining area.

This is the second SI-branded resort announced in the Southeast, joining a Tuscaloosa property that’s set to break ground next year.
