Even if you’ve spent plenty of time in Centennial Park, you probably haven’t experienced it like this.

The Centennial Park Conservancy and Nashville Sites just launched a self-guided audio tour that turns a casual loop around the park into a 12-stop history lesson. Just scan the QR codes posted along the route (no app needed), connect your headphones, and wander around to hear stories tied to:

  • Indigenous pathways that shaped the land
  • The 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition
  • The Suffrage Monument and Great Lawn
  • Lake Watauga’s environmental story (look for the bee hives — they’re visible from the shore)

Start at the Parthenon or jump in anywhere along the route. The tour is also available to stream online if you’d prefer to listen from home. Along the way, you’ll hear longtime Parthenon director Wesley Paine, joined by voices from the Nashville Sites Cultural Ambassadors team.
