Nate Bargatze levels up his Nashville theme park plans

Could Nateland become Nashville’s next theme park after Opryland USA’s 1997 closure? A new partnership is exploring the possibility.

Stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze took another step toward his goal of opening a theme park in Music City.

In a video played at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo in Orlando, he announced a new partnership between his production company Nateland and California-based Storyland Studios to study the feasibility of a Nashville-area park named, well, Nateland.

What we know:

  • A 100+ acre site is being explored in the greater Nashville area.
  • In addition to rides, amenities under consideration include retail, dining, and a hotel.
  • The feasibility study is expected to wrap up in the first quarter of 2026.
  • Nateland plans to seek investors immediately afterward.

Storyland Studios is also connected to Storyville Gardens — a separate Nashville-area theme park announced in 2021. While public updates have been limited since then, the development team said this summer the project is “alive and well” and provided some updates, though the proposed location hasn’t been shared publicly.
