The country’s largest lantern festival, Zoolumination, returns to the Nashville Zoo Thursday, Nov. 14 through Feb. 9.

For the first time ever, guests can experience the lights in a new way — while skating the Smashville Ice Rink. More dazzling features include:

  • 1,000+ new custom-made silk lanterns, massive lighted structures (read: dragons + other fantastical beasts), and picturesque walkways
  • Nocturnal animal encounters
  • Unique live performances each night
  • The North Pole Village, which will host Santa from Nov. 29 to Dec. 24
