Belcourt turns 100 with a series spotlighting Nashville on film

The Belcourt Theater opens its centennial celebration with a film series on Nashville’s screen history — and there’s more ahead.

The Grand Ole Opry isn’t the only Nashville institution marking a century this year. The Belcourt Theatre turns 100 in June, and it’s kicking things off with a deep dive into how the city has appeared on screen.

“Nashville: A City On Film” opens with Robert Altman’s “Nashville,” and actor Keith Carradine — who starred in the film and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song — will appear at the Belcourt on Sunday, June 1.

Keep an eye out for these local spots in the eight-film series:

The Belcourt plans to add to the series throughout the year, so consider this just the opening act. In fact, maybe some of these Nashville-shot titles will make the cut next time.
