Voting in Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District special primary election

The next election in Davidson County is inching closer on Tuesday, Oct. 7, and we’re here to help you prepare for the polls.

Middle Tennesseans living in the state’s 7th Congressional District will vote in the Democratic and Republican party primaries on Tuesday, Oct. 7 to determine which two candidates face off in the general election. The special election is happening to fill the seat left vacant by US Rep. Mark Green.

In Davidson County, the 7th Congressional District includes downtown and portions of North and West Nashville. Find the list of candidates on the sample ballot (page 2).

Important dates

  • Early voting | Wednesday, Sept. 17-Thursday, Oct. 2
  • Deadline to request an absentee ballot | Saturday, Sept. 27
  • Election Day | Tuesday, Oct. 7
  • Special General Election | Tuesday, Dec. 2

This election will have six early voting sites open every day except for Sundays. If you are waiting until Election Day, the address you are given using this interactive tool is where you must vote.
