Move over, pickleball — or at least make a little room for another racket sport in town. We’re talking about padel, which is rapidly growing in popularity across the US. If you want to get ahead of the curve and play locally, here’s what to know.
First, what is padel? Think of it as a cross between tennis and squash, played on a smaller court enclosed with walls that are also part of the game. The sport is typically played in pairs, and this how-to guide outlines the key rules.
Nashville padel clubs
Sensa Padel
Sensa boasts six outdoor courts in Germantown, tucked into Neuhoff’s mix of restaurants and retail. New players can book intro clinics or lessons — no equipment or partner needed. The club also hosts open play sessions and group events + you can even throw a padel party with up to 125 people.
Padel Haus
This New York-based padel club expanded to Music City earlier this year and offers eight indoor courts. While memberships are available, anyone can take a swing at the sport through court reservations, programming, and one-on-one sessions with coaches. Players can also refuel at the on-site Juice Haus bar and make use of locker rooms lounge spaces.
