Join a local running club to stay motivated, discover fresh routes, and enjoy the social boost that keeps you sprinting forward.

Running clubs are a great way to get your steps in around Music City and find a supportive group to keep you motivated. Check out these local clubs that make us excited to hit the pavement.

New to running? No worries — many of these groups welcome runners of all paces and are free to join.

6Run5 | This run club meets on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at East Nashville’s The Exchange Running Collective. Opt for a two- or four-mile route based on your preference. Fun fact: The group celebrated its five-year anniversary this summer.

Jogalope | Enjoy a change of scenery? Meet-up locations on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. vary, but you can bookmark the schedule weeks in advance on Jogalope’s website. Don’t miss Frothy Fridays (Frothy Monkey 12 South) at 6:30 a.m. and Sasquatchalope! Trail Runs (Warner Park Nature Center) on Saturdays at 7 and 9 a.m.

Donelson Run Club | Keep up with the group’s Monday Morning Mug and Tuesday Evening Trot schedules on Instagram. Bonus: Join the Second Saturday Bagel Run to recharge with bagels and coffee after a scenic neighborhood jog.

East Nasty Running Club | In the words of this East Nashville running club, “Just show up, meet some great people, listen for your pace group, and run.” The main organized run is Wednesdays at 6 p.m. year round at the corner of 12th and Holly, and the Lasty Nasties walk/run sub-group meets at 5:45.

12 South Runners | If you want to kick off your week with a run in 12 South, this group meets on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. at Embers Ski Lodge, where some members cool off with a post-run brew. Prefer early morning runs? A sub-group meets at 5 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Nations Run Club | This Monday evening run starts out at Southern Grist Brewing Company at 6:30 p.m. From there, all paces are welcome to choose from the routes (typically 2-5 miles) posted on the group’s Instagram page.

Brew Crew | Where will this running club meet up next in East Nashville? Follow Nashville Running Company on Instagram to see the route for each Friday’s 6 a.m. run.

Frosty Joggers East Nashville Running Club | Another East Nashville option, this time on Sundays at 6 p.m. “Keep running cool” by meeting up at Lakeside Lounge for a ~3-mile run open to all ages and paces.

Run Club | Check the group’s Instagram page to stay up to date on Thursday evenings runs presented by Cooldown, a nationwide social run club. If you can’t make the 6:30 p.m. trek (or if you want a double dose of Run Club), join the Sunday Scaries Shakeout Run at 1 p.m.

We’re Not Really Runners Nashville | This run and social club’s motto is to “empower runners and non-runners alike.” Join the group, which is part of a nationwide network, on Mondays at 6:30 a.m., Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., and Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. Meet-up locations are announced weekly on Instagram.
