Prepare for BNA’s central core closure

Flying out of BNA between June 1 and late 2027? The way you navigate the terminal may look a little different as the airport’s “central core” closes for an 18-month renovation.
This area includes the main escalators and elevators connecting baggage claim, ticketing, and ground transportation levels.
Getting around during construction
The pedestrian bridge on Level 5 will be closed during the renovation.
As such, garage users must go down to Level 1 and use the crosswalk to enter the terminal.
Once inside, head up to Level 3 (departures) for ticketing and security.
Passengers will continue to be dropped off on Level 3 and picked up on Level 2.
Although there will be construction around it, the Grand Lobby will remain open. And don’t worry, we’ll remind you closer to time.
The final product
When the renovation is complete, BNA’s central core will more than double its vertical capacity with 16 escalators, upgraded elevators, and a new Level 4 landing.

Announced
The James Beard Award nominees are out, and The Catbird Seat is Nashville’s lone finalist. After relocating to Paseo South Gulch last spring, it’s in the running for Outstanding Restaurant, one of the top honors. Winners will be announced June 15 in Chicago.
Sports
A year after Gov. Bill Lee submitted a letter of interest for Nashville to host the 2029 Super Bowl, we now know the game is headed to Las Vegas. While nothing is official for 2030, an NFL executive said the league is “excited about Nashville” after Titans leadership showcased the new stadium at league meetings. (The Tennessean)
Watch
Speaking of the new stadium, watch this 25-second panoramic look inside as construction continues.
Holiday
Passover (or Pesach) begins at sundown today. Sadie’s and Aba are offering special holiday menus for dine-in or carryout, with additional local spots providing Passover-friendly options. (The Tennessean)
Closing
OneShop Marketplace & Eats will close after business on Sunday, April 12. The shop started as a four-maker pop-up in 2022 and grew into a retail and restaurant space spotlighting small brands from across the country. Keep up with founder Rhonda Cammon’s other business, Perfectly Cordial.
Today Is
National Walking Day, a nationwide initiative established in 2007 by the American Heart Association. It’s a good excuse for a stroll on one of Nashville’s easy-to-moderate trails — our hiking guide can point you in the right direction.
If your ideal Cheekwood visit includes a pastry and coffee from Perenn in hand, good news: The bakery is opening a location in the Frist Learning Center courtyard on Friday, May 1.
Other offerings will include breakfast sandwiches on sourdough, salads, a garden club with rotisserie chicken, and a leek and garlic grilled cheese, plus a full espresso + tea menu.
A trendy square-cut tank under $15 that’s a great wardrobe basic for spring and summer. It’s double-lined, soft, and has the right amount of stretch to flatter curves. Stock up in black, white, or both.
Looks like the next stop on my Nashville Pairings series is set. After kicking things off with Primitive Coffee Company and Dozen Bakery, 68% of readers in our poll last week pointed me toward This-N-That Thrift Shop and Brightside Bakeshop.
If you voted for Shook About Books and Dose, don’t worry. I’ll be making my way to this combo soon.
The Wrap
The Wrap
Tennessee apple stack cake has somehow eluded me all these years, but I might let Goo Goo Chocolate Co. be my introduction. The brand’s new apple stack cake-inspired creation is available for a limited time at the Nashville store and the Tennessee State Museum.
