Whether you have plans to travel for the holidays or are looking for a quick getaway, we’re taking the itinerary building off of your to-do list.

You know and love NASHtoday, so it’s about time we introduce you to seven of our sister cities. (psst: we have 27, so there’s more local insight where this comes from).

Austin, TX

When it comes to dining in Austin, don’t miss the mouthwatering offerings at Numero28 and the vibrant atmosphere of De Nada Cantina. For unforgettable sights, paddle board at Barton Springs and Lady Bird Lake, or take in the breathtaking views from the 360 overlook.

Chattanooga, TN

City Editor Kristen recommends dining at Niedlov’s Bakery & Cafe for fresh pastries (and pizza night on Fridays) and paying Little Coyote a visit, which serves up barbecue and features a robust offering of agave spirits. For a cultural experience, explore the Tennessee Aquarium and the Hunter Museum of American Art.

Vanderbilt Athletics has hit a hot streak. The university’s football program earned bowl eligibility for the first time since 2018 last week, now the men’s and women’s basketball teams are starting the season strong with accomplishments of their own.

Both teams hosted their first games of the season at Memorial Gymnasium on Monday, Nov. 4, resulting in wins. The men defeated Maryland Eastern Shore 102-63, while the women battled it out Nashville-style against Lipscomb, also scoring 102 points. The magic number marked the first time an SEC school’s men’s and women’s teams secured 100+ points the same day since 2001.

The women return to action at home on Friday, Nov. 8 + the men play next on Sunday, Nov. 10. If you’re looking to be courtside soon, take a time out and flip through the teams’ gameday guides first.
