Hey Nashville, Dylan + Katie here. Between the two of us, we get the privilege of sharing the news with 45,000+ readers in Nashville, daily — both through our newsletter + social feeds.

We haven’t properly introduced ourselves, so you can consider this our official meet-cute (no cinematic, albeit awkward, coffee spill bump-ins required). 😘

Meet Dylan 👋

Q: Describe your perfect day in Nashville in the length of a Tweet (280 characters).

A: I’m starting my Saturday with breakfast + coffee at Frothy Monkey before heading over to Centennial Park or Radnor Lake. There’s a 7 p.m. showing at the Belcourt I can’t miss, but not before I grab dinner at Meet Noodles across the street.

Q:You’re ordering a drink from a Nashville bar: What’s in it?

A: Let it be known summer is not my favorite season (how can you top Nashville in the fall?), but around this time of year Diskin Cider brings back its seasonal Daydream cider. The prickly pear cider — which Diskin describes as being “juicy, exotic, and tangy” — is available for a limited time at the taproom, online, in stores + at local bars, so act fast. Plus, for the third year, the cidery will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Nashville LGBT Chamber.

Q: What secret food item are you kinda wanting to keep secret, but also kinda wanting to share with the city?

A: If you’re like me and love boiled peanuts, you may have noticed this salty snack is hard to come by in Music City. That is until I discovered Papa Padgetts Peanuts on a recent outing in East Nashville, and now making a pit-stop at this boiled peanut stand is a weekend must-do. The stand isn’t open every weekend + locations may vary, so keep an eye on the schedule.

Meet Katie 👋

Q: What were the last 3 things you did around town?

A: I’m a huge reader, so I headed out to The Bookshop + McKay’s to pick up some new and used books. I watched the Nashville Sounds with a Field of Dreamsicle in hand (ProTip: this locally-sourced frozen drink pairs perfectly with a ballpark hotdog). On the way home, I stopped by Black Abbey Brewing to pick up a pack of The Rose, which I tried at Von Elrod’s before the game.

Q: If you were taking someone on a tour around Nashville, where are the 3 places you’re going?

A: Narrows of the Harpeth at Harpeth River State Park is my go-to spot to bring visitors. It’s a very short hike with a waterfall + the most amazing overlook. Broadway is great, but the hidden speakeasies like magic-themed House of Cards + Hidden Bar at Noelle are a must. I’d also take them to Assembly Food Hall so they could try a variety of the delicious food Nashville has to offer.

Q: You’re ordering a drink from a local coffee shop. What is it?

A: Dylan and I share a strong love for iced lattes + chai tea, but one of my favorite drinks I’ve had recently is the vanilla almond tea latte from Sam & Zoe’s. ☕
