HCA Healthcare’s Galen College of Nursing — one of the largest nursing schools in the US — is opening its first Tennessee location in Capitol View in early 2022.

The $2+ million, 47,700 sqft campus located at 1100 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. will provide nursing students with hands-on learning through patient simulation labs, traditional classroom environments, and collaborative and creative spaces.

Currently, Tennessee ranks No. 5 in the nation for the current demand for travel nurses — needing almost 1,500 to fill open positions — and local universities like Belmont have recently established programs to help meet local healthcare job demands.

HCA Healthcare is Nashville’s third largest employer + one of the leading employers of nurses in the country. The Galen College of Nursing is expected to increase the local number of HCA’s working nurses, provide development opportunities for current nurses, and establish nursing programs throughout its local health systems.

The Galen College of Nursing is offering 3 different degree programs: a 3-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing, 2-year Associate Degree in Nursing + a Licensed Practical Nursing to Associate Degree in Nursing Bridge.

Enrollment for the first term beginning Jan. 3 is now open.
