Cheekwood Estate and Gardens is giving you pumpkin’to talk about this year with its biggest Cheekwood Harvest yet. If autumn is calling your name, we have good news: The annual six-week fall festival opens tomorrow and runs through Sun., Oct. 30.

Go big or gourd home

New this year is a third pumpkin house in the Pumpkin Village (read: lots of photo ops) + overall 10,000 pumpkins and ~3,000 mums If you see a pumpkin you like, there will be some available for purchase to take home.

A scary good time

The scarecrow trail is back this year with 30+ creations on view along the paths in the Turner Seasons Garden. This year’s theme, “personify your favorite plant,” features scarecrows with clever names like Elvis Parsley + Willow Nelson.

Fall favorites

The fun doesn’t stop there. There are several exciting happenings and cultural events during Cheekwood Harvest that are not to be missed, including:

  • Cheekwood Beer Garden | Saturdays + Sundays through Oct. 30 | Times vary | Grab a picnic table (or bring your own blanket) and enjoy full-band performances + seasonal beers, cocktails, and spirits. Pro tip: Jazz quartets take the stage on Sundays.
  • Japanese Moon Viewing | Sun., Oct. 9 | 4-9 p.m. | The festival will take place the night of the Harvest Moon with tea ceremony demonstrations, origami + music and dancing.
  • Halloween Pooch Party | Sat., Oct. 22-Sun., Oct. 23 | 9 a.m.-5 p.m. | Dress up Fido for a stroll through the gardens + enjoy special treats from dog-friendly vendors.
  • El Día de los Muertos | Sat., Oct. 29-Sun., Oct. 30 | 9 a.m.-5 p.m. | This annual Day of the Dead festival brings the traditions of Mexico and Latin America to Nashville with music and dance, food, and art activities.
