Find yourself wondering, “Where can I find fish and chips around Nashville?” Reader Allie C. asked this very question in our 25 Questions for 2025 series. From the crispy, fried batter to the thick-cut fries, we did our best to track down local spots serving up this classic comfort food.

Fleet Street Pub
Fleet Street meets all your British-style pub needs from the heart of Printers Alley, with English beers on tap, Premier League matches on the TVs, and one of the best deals in town — the $7.50 lunch-sized Royal Oak fish and chips. The lunch option is Alaskan pollock, but they serve battered Atlantic cod, too.

McNamara’s Irish Pub
Head to this Donelson staple of 15 years for fish and chips, which shares a menu section with steak and Guinness pie and corned beef and cabbage. Plus, most nights are soundtracked by live music.

Germantown Pub
This Germantown restaurant is recognized for its wings, pretzels with beer cheese, and select vegan dishes, but did you know the fish and chips are made with a Yazoo beer batter?

Boston Commons
East Nashville’s Boston Commons serves a New England-inspired menu, meaning you can pair your three varieties of fish and chips (cod, haddock, and pollock) with clam chowder, crab cakes, and lobster rolls.

Fogg Street Lawn Club
Whether you’re hungry after lawn bowling or just looking for a meal, this restaurant batters Icelandic cod in Carlsberg pilsner and serves it with steak fries and a house tartar aioli.

51 North Taproom
Fish and chips or shrimp and chips — take your pick. That’s in addition to taproom favorites like poutine fries, burgers, and weekend brunch. Bonus: It’s also on the kids menu.

The Lost Paddy
This Spence Lane restaurant batters its Alaskan cod in Guinness and serves it on a bed of fries with house-made tartar sauce. Depending on the day, you’ll either be met with live music or rugby and soccer matches.

The Pub
Located in the Gulch, this British pub-style chain keeps the events calendar filled with rugby and Premier League watch parties, trivia nights, and more. If you’re going for the classic dish, it was awarded the title of “Best Fish & Chips in the US” by the UK’s Greene King Brewery.

Beyond Nashville, venture down to Franklin for fish and chips at McCreary’s Irish Pub & Eatery, Scout’s Pub, and Quinn’s Neighbourhood Pub and Eatery.
