Assembly Food Hall’s rooftop could see a facelift

Operators of Assembly Food Hall’s Skydeck on Broadway say weather has limited the event venue’s capabilities.

Rain, rain, go away. Inclement weather seems to be the primary reason behind the Assembly Food Hall operator’s desire for a cover over Skydeck on Broadway.

On average, up to 12 shows are canceled a year due to weather — a revenue loss of ~$150,000 annually. If approved, changes would allow for an additional hard covering over much of the current soft canopy and open air space. Plans suggest this solution will allow for an additional 76+ events and $2.2 million over the course of a year.

The Metro Development and Housing Agency Design Review Committee will evaluate the idea at a meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
