With the number of COVID-19 cases on the rise since the spread of the Delta variant in Tennessee, Metro Government has announced additional safety measures to promote public health.

Beginning Thurs., Aug 5, face coverings will be required for anyone inside government buildings — whether vaccinated or unvaccinated — until further notice.

For now, private businesses can continue to create their own policies according to what safety measures make sense in their particular situations.

Who else is requiring face coverings?

Nashville International Airport, WeGo Transit + the University of Tennessee are among those that are requiring everyone to wear face coverings.

Major retailers like Target + Kroger are requiring unvaccinated customers to wear a mask while strongly encouraging those vaccinated to do the same.

Not sure of your go-to businesses’ policies? You can call ahead to prepare + be vigilant of policy signs posted on doors and windows.

Where can I get vaccinated?

If you’re looking for a place to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, check out the CDC’s vaccine finder tool. Additionally, Metro Health will host several community vaccination events this week.
