September is a great month to be a David Bowie fan in Music City.

The new Bowie documentary, “Moonage Daydream,” opened exclusively in IMAX theaters on Friday and will arrive at the Belcourt Theatre on Fri., Sept. 23. The film — described as a “feature-length experiential cinematic odyssey” — features previously unreleased footage from the late artist’s archives, including live concert recordings.

In conjunction with the release, the theater is presenting “Bowie on Film,” a series of movies that feature Bowie as an actor or subject, with “The Prestige” and “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me” among the selections. See the complete lineup of screenings on the Belcourt’s website.

Looking ahead to this weekend and beyond, put these two Bowie-centric events on your calendar.

💫 Laser David Bowie | Sat., Sept. 24 | 6:15 p.m. | Adventure Science Center | $11 | This laser show features hits like “Space Oddity,” “Rebel Rebel,” and “Life on Mars.”

💫 Celebrating David Bowie Live in Concert | Mon., Nov. 7 | 7:30 p.m. | Schermerhorn Symphony Center | $25+ | A group of award-winning musicians will come together to interpret Bowie’s greatest hits.
