Highlighting local shops we love for Small Business Saturday

Nashville is made up of so many wonderful small businesses, here are a few our readers love in honor of Small Business Saturday.

Small Business Saturday, an initiative dedicated to celebrating and supporting small and locally-owned businesses + the impact they have in our communities, is on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The day falls between two of the biggest shopping days of the year — Black Friday and Cyber Monday — and has become an annual shopping tradition for many since its establishment by American Express in 2010.

If you’re looking to join in on the festivities this year, check out our list of some of City Editor Dylan and Skylar’s favorite small businesses in town — and some extra suggestions from our readers and followers.

Gift Horse | City Editor Dylan loves pairing gifts with colorful + thoughtful cards — and this East Nashville gift shop has a wall brimming with them. Plus, shop gift items, accessories, and locally made goods while you’re there.

Baked on 8th | Not only can you place same-day cake orders for select flavors, the bakery’s pastry case is always filled with hand-decorated cookies, galaxy brownies, and more — the perfect sweet pick-me-up before your shopping spree.

Premonition Goods | City Editor Skylar is a firm believer that a wool cowboy hat should be a staple in your winter accessories collection. The Red Rocks Porter would make a statement paired with your winter whites.

Music Valley Archive | Everyone talks of “old Nashville,” and Music Valley Archive designs it. The vintage-inspired tees, sweatshirts, hats, and more “help you rep your city’s old school soul.” Pro tip: Pop over to the website’s “Meat & Tee” tab for fresh restocks and brand-new gear, which launches on Black Friday.
