It’s soup season — Here are some of your favorite hot soups at Nashville-area restaurants and markets.

The holidays are over and the cold weather is here to stay, but Nashville’s soup scene will warm you up to that. From melty, cheesy goodness to simmering bowls of broth, we’re sharing 17 piping hot soups to try, including a few reader favorites.

Rotating soups

McNamara’s Irish Pub, 2740 Old Lebanon Rd. | If you’re not ordering the creamy potato soup (available daily), try the vegetable barley (Tuesday), cream of broccoli (Thursday), or other rotating soups.

The Turnip Truck, locations vary | Soups like white bean vegetable, carrot ginger, and chicken and dumplings sometimes appear on the hot bar.

Ty’s Soups and Sandwiches, 160 4th Ave. N. | Pair your sandwich with a small or large bowl of chicken queso soup.

Rae’s Gourmet Sandwich Shoppe, 501 Union St. | Visit the downtown sandwich shop on Thursday’s for the spicy beer cheese.

Little Hats Market, 1120 4th Ave. N. #101 | Warm up with the Little Hats Soup loaded with tortellini, crimini mushrooms, salsa verde, and shaved Parmesan.

Degthai, 3025 Nolensville Pk. | Choose from four spice levels when ordering Tiew gang, a spicy vegan noodle soup made with a blend of red and yellow curry spices.

Tomato-based

The Food Company, 2211 Bandywood Dr. | Tomato basil is available daily, but don’t forget about the rotating soups — like Thursday’s curried sweet potato and red lentil + Saturday’s potato poblano corn chowder.

OSH Restaurant & Grill, 216 Thompson Ln. | Order the lagman made with lamb, vegetables, and hand-pulled noodles.

Noshville, 4014 Hillsboro Cir. | The Green Hills deli serves creamy tomato dill and sweet and sour cabbage soups daily.

Vegetarian

Mas Tacos Por Favor, 732 Mcferrin Ave. | A local favorite, sopa tarasca is a black and pinto bean soup topped with queso fresco and chipotle. Bonus: Non-vegetarians can opt for chicken tortilla soup.

Woodlands Indian Vegetarian Restaurant, 3415 West End Ave. | Savor the flavors of rasam, a traditional South Indian sour and spicy soup.
