We get it, it can be difficult to make friends as an adult, especially if you’re new to the city. We even stumbled upon a Reddit thread about it, so hey friends, we’re here to help. 👋

🤝 Go to community events

Head over to our events calendar. It’s updated monthly and there to help you find opportunities to get out in the city + meet new people — there’s probably a lot more going on than you think.

Plus, there’s YP Nashvillea networking organization that promotes social growth, professional development, and community service. Follow the group’s Facebook page for information about upcoming networking events.

🎨 Find a hobby

One of the best ways to make friends is to surround yourself with people who have similar interests. Whether that’s an artistic hobby like painting or creative writing — there are classes you can join.

If you’re into fitness, join a bike club like Harpeth Bicycle Club or Bike Funlocals know the biking community in Nashville is tight knit.

If you like to read, participate in a book club hosted by Nashville Public Library.

🎶 Get out in the city

Nashville Girl Gang is a membership-based social group for Nashville ladies, or you might find a friend right in your own neighborhood via these Facebook groups for East Nashville and Bellevue.

If you’re into live music (we are living in Music City), check out our guide to live music venues + head out to a concert where you can meet new friends.

Pro tip: For any of this to work, you most likely will need to step out of your comfort zone, but consider us your first new friends.
