It might look like a lot of dirt right now, but as you walk along the Broadway Bridge in the coming months, you’ll begin to see a green space take form below.

Construction on another phase of Nashville Yards has commenced, meaning Nashvillians are one step closer to visiting the 1.3-acre pedestrian park, Ascension Saint Thomas Landing.

Initial concept plans were introduced in June, outlining key project features like an amphitheater, dog walking area, and pickleball courts. At the Wednesday, Oct. 16 groundbreaking ceremony, officials shared a better idea of the development’s layout, ironed out some details, and released fresh renderings.

Visualizing a lay of the land

Visitors will be able to access the Landing from The Union Station hotel, where you’ll walk under Broadway and be met with pickleball courts and seating areas. Take Fido to the multi-level dog park and amphitheater on the left next to the railroad tracks before fueling up at food and beverage purveyors on the opposite side.

Some anticipated activations include:

  • Group events from the Grand Hyatt and The Union Station hotels
  • Concerts and festivals
  • Plans for the Susan G. Komen Breast MORE THAN PINK Walk

Plus, Nashville’s list of farmers markets could grow with talk of sponsoring one on the property.

Honing in on health

While the park’s overall focus is to promote general wellness, Ascension Saint Thomas will take its naming rights a step further. Officials said residents of Everett and Emory, the two luxury living towers rising at Nashville Yards, will receive access to a unique clinic free of “traditional health care barriers.” Think: no waiting rooms, walk-in-friendly, and 24/7 service.

The original timeline predicted the green space could be complete by spring 2025.
