Dolly Parton’s wine label appeared in Nashville this summer with a whimsical CMA Fest pop‑up, and now it has a home of its own. The new Dolly Wines Bar quietly opened Friday on the second level of Assembly Food Hall. Some of the signature sips include:
  • Chardonnay – Notes of white peach, sweet cream, and oak
  • Pinot Noir – Hints of blueberry pie, cherries, and vanilla
  • Seasonal Sangria — Chardonnay, peach, raspberries, Asian pear, lemon, thyme, and Topo Chico
Consider it a companion to “Dolly: A True Original Musical,” which runs through Sunday, Aug. 31 at Belmont University’s Fisher Center.

News Notes

An image of a red jellyfish on a USPS stamp. The background is black, with a landscape orientation, and the writing "bioluminescent life" and "USA forever" written on the sides. The red jellyfish fills most of the rectangular space and is swimming to the right with its tentacles hanging behind it.

What do you sting of this?

See that picture above? Imagine getting one of those in the mail. No, not the jellyfish. USPS is hosting a vote through the end of September to bring back some of its most popular stamps, with options including Pixar characters, American history, and birthday shoutouts. Have your say.

Ashley McBryde is opening Redemption Bar inside Chief’s, Eric Church’s six-story bar, on Thursday, Aug. 28. The fifth‑floor venue, coined “Broadway’s first non-alcoholic-focused bar,” will feature zero‑proof cocktails named after McBryde’s lyrics.

Active

20%. That’s how many adults play team sports in the US — up from 11% in 2020. That means more potential pickleball partners if you want to play doubles. (Axios)

Eat

Craving a snack? There’s a good chance you’ll reach for a bag of Doritos, because that’s the most popular snack in Tennessee, according to research by HubScore. If you’re looking for a different flavor, we recommend stocking up on some Nashville-made snacks. (Cheapism)
This 4-bed, 3-bath home is full of thoughtful touches — including a gourmet kitchen, first-floor primary suite, and private porch. Take a peek.*

The Wrap

Perenn’s Nashville location is open from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. | Photo by ROMASHVISION

Is it just me, or does this photo make you want to curl up with a book and a latte? This cozy corner is actually inside the new Perenn Bakery location on Sidco Drive, which we mentioned in a newsletter last week.

The space is all about the details — think: high wood-paneled ceilings, a hand-painted espresso machine, and a mezzanine that overlooks the open bakery.
