✈️ Taste of Iceland touches down

Nashville’s new direct flight to Reykjavík, Iceland isn’t the only connection between the two cities this year. Later this month, a festival will bring Icelandic food and entertainment stateside to Music City.

From Thursday, June 26 to Saturday, June 28, Taste of Iceland plans to take over venues across town, including Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery, Cannery Hall, and the Adventure Science Center.

Here’s what you can check out:
  • A free concert featuring indie band superserious, folk singer-songwriter Árný Margrét, and DJ Hermigervill spinning Icelandic tunes
  • An Icelandic prix fixe dinner with wild seafood, lamb, and skyr prepared by chef Hafliði Halldórsson
  • A comedy show with storytelling and a roast of common tourist mistakes
  • An immersive northern lights film titled “Áróra” exploring the aurora borealis from Reykjavík to the edge of space
Bonus: Seek out Icelandair’s Wheel of Prizes during the festival for a chance to win a trip to Iceland and other items.

Six businesses headquartered in the Greater Nashville area made this year’s Fortune 500 list. HCA Healthcare came in at No. 61 on this ranking of the biggest US companies by revenue, followed by Dollar General, Tractor Supply, and others. Ka-ching.

Opening

Pro golfer John Daly is teeing up a Midtown bar. John Daly’s Nashville is set to open Thursday, June 5 in the former Dogwood space next to Losers. There’s even a chance you could win two tickets to the a screening of “Happy Gilmore 2,” in which Daly makes a cameo.

Fast-casual eatery Flower Child opens its first Tennessee location on Tuesday, June 24 at Franklin’s Southside at McEwen development. It’s part of Fox Restaurant Concepts, the team behind The Twelve Thirty Club and Pushing Daisies. Here’s what to expect from the new spot.

The bold orange-and-black panels tease a summer 2025 opening and promise, “We’ll keep ya posted” — but word got out yesterday that Post Malone is getting a Lower Broadway bar. The venue will span 26,000 sqft and feature six bars, three stages, a full-service dining room, and a rooftop.
