A Music City showdown. The Auburn Tigers (SEC) and the Maryland Terrapins (Big Ten) will face off at the 26th TransPerfect Music City Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30 at Nissan Stadium, and the game will be televised on ABC. Tickets are on sale.
Drink
A new Germantown bar is now open and serves hundreds of whiskeys at 1010 4th Ave. N. Barrel Proof, which operates in New Orleans as well, also offers a variety of beer, wine, and cocktails. It’s open daily from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m. (Nashville Business Journal)
Sports
The Tennessee Titans fell 31-28 in overtime to the Indianapolis Colts — the team’s first home loss this season. The Titans lost several players to injury, including Derrick Henry, Jeffery Simmons, and punter Ryan Stonehouse. Tune in to see the Titans vs. Dolphins on Monday, Dec. 11.
Concert
Rock bands Styx and Foreigner are teaming up for a tour next summer. The co-headlining concert will stop at Ascend Amphitheater on Friday, July 12. Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 8 at 10 a.m.
Sports
Nashville’s Pearl-Cohn Firebirds were victorious at the TSSAA Class 4A BlueCross Bowl on Saturday. With Pearl-Cohn’s 36-27 win over Upperman, they became the first MNPS football program to win a state title since 2008. (Main Street Nashville)
