Out with summer food festivals, in with the fall foodie events. With cooler temps here to stay, here’s how to warm up with pizza, hot chicken, and turnip greens at these upcoming festivals.

🍕 Unlimited pizza slices

Perhaps you’ve seen flyers hanging up at your favorite pizza joint, or maybe this is the first time you’re hearing the cheesy news: Pizza City Fest takes over First Horizon Park the weekend of Oct. 19-20. The festival promises all-you-can-eat slices from 40 local + national pizzerias (with a different lineup each day), along with sides, salads, and sweets. Beyond the bites, expect demonstrations, panel discussions, and book signings.

Tickets start at $90, including taxes and fees.

🥬 400 pounds of turnip greens

Now in its 26th year, the Nashville Farmers Market’s Turnip Green Festival on Saturday, Nov. 2 boasts vendor specials, a baking contest, live music, food trucks, and kid-friendly activities. However, the star of the show is 400 pounds of braised greens cooked in a cauldron and served alongside barbecue, cornbread, and beans.

As with all NFM foodie fests, the event is free to attend with food, produce, and vendor products available for purchase.

🍗 Hot chicken and live music

The 9th annual Kosher Nashville Hot Chicken Festival takes place alongside the Jewish Arts & Music Festival at Gordon Jewish Community Center on Sunday, Nov. 3. Sample hot chicken from eight competing teams + purchase additional eats from Hattie B’s, Melissa & Sons Bakery, Bubbie’s Bake Shop, and Ben & Jerrys.

Both events are free to attend, but tasting tickets (starting at $22) must be purchased to sample hot chicken.
