A double dose of inspiration awaits at the Frist Art Museum’s two new exhibitions.
Frist up is “Southern/Modern ,” a vibrant portrait of the American South highlighting an artistic movement that blossomed from 1913 to 1955. See stunning paintings by major artists, including Aaron Douglas, Alma Thomas, and Thomas Hart Benton.
The journey continues in the adjacent contemporary gallery with captivating woodblock prints and mixed-media portraits by Arkansas-born artist LaToya M. Hobbs in “Carving a New Tradition. ”
