Stepped outside in the past 24 hours? You’re already acquainted with Nashville’s latest heat wave .
Forecasters issued a heat advisory yesterday and predict the roasting temps will last all week — with high temps in the upper 90s and heat indexes peaking around 107 degrees each afternoon. A second heat advisory goes in effect at 12 p.m. today and remains until 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25.
When will things cool down? Sunday, Aug. 27 is expected to be the first day it dips below 90 degrees. Until then, NES has suspended service disconnections . The Office of Emergency Management plans to activate mobile or stationary cooling stations if heat indexes reach 110 degrees for a “prolonged period of time.”
