Neighborlily brings cafe and floral concept to Germantown

Now you can do as Miley Cyrus suggests and buy yourself flowers... and coffee, tea, and merchandise, too.

Would you guess you just walked into a restored 1880s bungalow?

Hey, neighbor — there’s a new experience in town. Combination cafe, floral, and retail store Neighborlily is now serving Germantown at 606 Monroe St.

The concept was brought to life by Karen Kops, who you might recognize as the creator behind next door’s Poppy & Monroe . Neighborlily is focused on fostering community, whether that be over a quick bite and sip or feeding on one another’s visions at the bouquet workshop table.

Sip on quali-tea lattes, drip coffee, espresso, and more.

🥐 What we’re ordering

  • Coffee + tea : Locally-sourced and made in-house, check. Choose from eight signature coffees and teas, and keep an eye on the hot or rotating iced tea options. We sipped on the Hey Neighbor Latte — and don’t skip the whip. It’s homemade and vegan-friendly. Bonus: Your hunt for a decaf espresso ends here.
  • Food + pastries : Gluten-free? No problem. You’ve got options, including almost everything under the pastry selection, which features a cookie topped with an edible flower. If you’re looking for a little more to munch, share the hummus or cheese board. We recommend the orzo pasta salad — no halfsies involved.

Send this story to your special someone before Valentine’s Day.

💐 What we’re doing

Flex your imagination and head to the work table in the back of the store. Here, you can create your own arrangement in a bud vase using Neighborlily’s array of fresh flowers, or opt for a more sustainable approach using the selection of dried florals.

Leaning towards leaving it to the professionals? Neighborlily makes bouquets and arrangements in three color palettes: Serene (calm, muted, and neutrals), Neighborlily (blues, peaches, and neutrals), and Lively (deeper, moody tones).

Plus, shop while you sip. Gift an item from the store’s curated home and garden collection , or pair it with your crafted bouquet.

Patio hangs loading.

👀 What we’re looking forward to

The shop hopes to offer flower workshops by mid-to-late February. More ideas are in bloom, too — Neighborlily is growing its own garden behind the store and will eventually offer gardening classes.

When the weather warms, don’t miss the spacious patio and take-out window.
