Before you can rock the vote, rock the vote, baby — we’ve got to make sure you’re registered. National Voter Registration Day is just five days away (Tues., Sept. 20), and whether you’re a seasoned voter or it’s your first year at the ballot box, we want to make sure you’re prepared when it’s time to hit the polls in Nashville.
Dates to note
- Tues., Oct. 11 | Voter registration deadline
- Tues., Nov. 1 | Deadline to request an absentee ballot
- Tues., Nov. 8 | State and federal general, Belle Meade, Forest Hills, and Goodlettsville municipal Election Day
What you need to register
If you’re registering online, you’ll need a Tennessee driver’s license or Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security ID.
If you don’t have either of these things, you can still print the voter registration form and mail it to your local election office (find that address here ).
As a friendly reminder, in order to be eligible to vote in the State of Tennessee, voters must:
- Be a US citizen
- Be a resident of Tennessee
- Be at least 18 years old on Election Day
