🎤 Music City has the mic

Music City is well represented on Season 29 of “The Voice.” In the new “Battle of Champions” season, six Nashville-based artists landed on teams led by Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend.

Team Kelly: Abigayle Oakley, Blaire Elbert, JW Griffin
You may have heard Oakley, a Belmont alum, at the Bluebird Cafe or as an opening act for The War and Treaty. Elbert also has Belmont ties and performed with the girl group The Cactus Cuties. After moving to Nashville, Griffin won a songwriting contest that earned him a spot at Whiskey Jam during CMA Fest.

Team Adam: Bay Simpson
Simpson grew up in a musical family — his mom won “Nashville Star,” and he even has distant family ties to Elvis Presley.

Team Legend: Kendra Remedios, Natasha Blaine
Remedios splits her time between dental hygiene work and performing around Nashville, while Blaine studied literature and jazz at Vanderbilt University.

“The Voice” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on NBC and streams on Peacock the next day.
