A winter storm watch is in effect for all of Middle Tennessee from late Friday, Jan. 23 through the afternoon on Sunday, Jan. 25. If this changes or is upgraded, the National Weather Service will update the forecast and share alerts on its website.
NWS officials are warning of “significant impacts,” including “dangerous travel, potential power outages, and possible downed trees and branches.”
Here are a few resources to keep in mind as the forecast develops:

Nashville Waste Services is asking residents still awaiting trash and recycling pickup this week to set carts out as soon as possible. Due to potential inclement weather, crews are accelerating pick-ups and “making every effort to service all remaining customers by Friday evening.”
Traffic
Additionally, NDOT crews will begin pre-treating roads today, Jan. 22. The department says its brine tanks and salt bins are fully stocked + the expanded 45-plow fleet is ready to roll if conditions worsen.
Arts
It’s the final week to catch the Frist Art Museum’s Paul McCartney photography exhibition. The last day is technically Monday, Jan. 26, but the Frist recommends seeing it by tomorrow in case the winter weather affects hours. While you’re there, check out the new courtyard sculpture by Nashville artist Vadis Turner.
