Every day, we write NASHtoday with one goal: to help you feel more connected to your city. And we’re not alone — our friends across the US, from Seattle to Tampa Bay, do the same for our 6AM City communities.
We believe in the power of local media to keep the community informed, engaged, and excited about where they live. That’s why our newsletter is and will remain free.
How do we make it sustainable?
We partner with national brands and some of Nashville’s best organizations + businesses that support our mission of bringing only good news to your inbox. But we also rely on reader support.
We’re calling on you now to help support our mission with a donation.

Say hello to the cutest new inhabitant of the Nashville Zoo. Muffuletta the meerkat recently came to Music City from Memphis, and officials say it’s easy to spot her. Just look for the shortest member of the troop.
Development
Crews are making good progress on the Titans’ new stadium. Last week, they installed the final piece of the ring beam roof — a process that took around four months in total. The projected spring 2027 completion date is still on track. (Nashville Post)

“I’m a kid, and I’m seeing... the largest invasion force ever put together.” Those are the memories of 104-year-old Jerry Neal, one of the ~1,200 living Tennessee World War II veterans, who ran out of fuel while flying over the sea between England and France on D-Day. (The Tennessean)
Seasonal
This week could be your last chance to see peak fall foliage in the Volunteer State for the year. The Smoky Mountains foliage prediction map has West Tennessee at its vibrant best right now — meaning a trip to Natchez Trace State Park could make for the perfect weekend activity.
Biz
There’s a new leader at the helm of Warner Records Nashville, formerly known as Warner Music Nashville. Chris Lacy has been named chair + president as part of the rebrand, and she will lead efforts “to support and ignite country music’s cultural resonance and global potential,” per officials. (Variety)
Mailbag
We had a serendipitous email in response our Outdoor Library piece that went in yesterday’s newsletter. “Thank you for recommending the Bicentennial Mall! I was the lead designer of the Mall and the WWII Memorial,” wrote Kem H. “I am always grateful for good reviews of these places.”

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you walked in a straight line around the world from Nashville? Wonder no longer, wanderer.
Let us introduce you to LatLon Connect, an online tool that allows users to explore cities across the world that share the same latitude and longitude.
Here’s what we found
In our search, we stuck with the default settings, looking for places with 100,000+ people with a buffer zone of 6.21 miles (that’s 10 kilometers).
Dozens of results popped up, with one of the most eye-catching lying directly to the south: Mexico’s oft-vacationed Cancun, pictured above.
The largest US city Nashville is aligned with? We’ll let you explore for yourself to find out.

This week’s cold front was a timely reminder that soup season is certainly upon us. Fortunately, Nashville is blessed with un-bowl-lievable spots to grab a cozy, warming cup.
