Terry Black’s BBQ plans to open a Germantown location at 1220 Rosa L. Parks Blvd. in 2026, but you can get an early taste of the Central Texas-style barbecue this Saturday, Sept. 20.
A one-day pop-up at Mother’s Ruin (11 a.m. until sellout) will offer $80 trays that feed two to three people and feature a full beef rib, two sausage links, mac and cheese, coleslaw, pickles, onions, and bread. Black Margaritas will also be on the menu, and all proceeds benefit the Nashville Humane Association.

The downtown YMCA’s years-long renovation is now complete. The five-story addition includes a rooftop workout area and a basement lap pool. Development firm Giarratana has also begun building the adjacent 60-story Paramount tower, which will eventually connect to the YMCA. (The Tennessean)

TDOT will host three public meetings to gather feedback on its proposed Southeast Choice Lanes Project. If approved, the project would add about 26 miles of optional toll lanes along I-24 between Nashville and Murfreesboro. (WZTV)

Kollective, an Austin-based fitness and social club, is coming to Wedgewood-Houston next year. The 25,000-sqft space will feature fitness classes, co-working areas, and member events. Check out the renderings. (Nashville Business Journal)

Culture + Co. will close its L&L Market location on Friday, Nov. 7 as it searches for a new permanent home. In the meantime, the wine and cheese bar plans to launch a “mobile cheese train” in January for weddings, pop-ups, and events.
Concert
Billy Strings announced two nights at Bridgestone Arena (Feb. 20-21) + a Ryman Auditorium show on Sunday, Feb. 22. Fans who purchase tickets to one or both of the arena shows will be eligible to request them for the Ryman. Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 19.

The Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix will return to Nashville Superspeedway next summer. The 400-mile race on Sunday, July 19 will air on FOX immediately following the FIFA World Cup title match and trophy ceremony.

Middle Tennesseans living in the state’s 7th Congressional District will vote in the Democratic and Republican party primaries on Tuesday, Oct. 7 to determine which two candidates face off in the general election. The special election is happening to fill the seat left vacant by US Rep. Mark Green.
In Davidson County, the 7th Congressional District includes downtown and portions of North and West Nashville. Find the list of candidates on the sample ballot (page 2).
