News Notes

Number

50 minutes. That’s how much daylight will be lost in Nashville during the month of August as the sun progressively rises later and sets earlier. We recommend taking advantage of the daylight while you have it by hitting a local trail. (AccuWeather)

Stat

Phew. Mugginess is on the rise across parts of the US. In Nashville, a record-breaking 93% of the days in June + July were considered muggy due to high humidity. If you’re looking for ways to cool off, we recommend taking a dip at a local waterpark. (AP News)

Listen

Do you feel like popular music has been a summer bummer recently? The lack of upbeat hits has resulted in many people deeming 2025 a year without a song of the summer. Luckily, Nashville has many upcoming concerts that will give us something to listen to in the fall. (CNN)

Eat

When it comes to sweet treats, MoonPies take the cake in Tennessee, according to a new list of the most iconic desserts in the US by state. Hungry for a bite? Save the date for next year’s RC Cola-MoonPie Festival: June 20, 2026. (Condé Nast Traveler)

Real Estate

This Franklin estate hosts Grammy winners

Taylor Swift crafted part of her debut album here. Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Neil Diamond, and more stepped onto the property to record. Now, the one-of-a-kind estate with a mansion and recording studio has officially hit the market.

Situated on 10 acres just five miles from downtown Franklin, owner Robin Crow spent three decades expanding the property in a style inspired by mountain lodges he admired — think: vaulted ceilings, stone archways, and cozy alcoves for reading, writing, and daydreaming.

The 14,000-sqft main residence boasts seven bedrooms, multiple kitchens, a library, and a 34-ft fireplace. Across the property, a timber-frame building houses the recording studios.

If ownership’s off the table, you can still book a stay — both The Manor and The Gatehouse are listed on Airbnb.
