News Notes

Closing

Antique Archaeology, the first retail tenant to open in Marathon Village, is set to close on Sunday, April 27. This will allow “American Pickers” star and owner Mike Wolfe to spend more time in his Iowa hometown. Visit between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 26 for autographs and photos. Announced

Thanks to new artifacts in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Taylor Swift Education Center, you can relive “The Eras” tour. Through next spring, see Swift’s Roberto Cavalli fringed dress, Christian Louboutin boots, and her Swarovski crystal Gibson. Additional items from the “Speak Now” set are in the “American Currents” exhibition.

Number

Seven. That’s how many home runs the Nashville Sounds put on the board yesterday, contributing to their 14-11 win over the Charlotte Knights. Jorge Alfaro and Andruw Monasterio each had two, with Monasterio setting the franchise record on his sixth-inning solo home run.

Mansion Monday

Soak in scenes of 2nd Avenue from your two-level penthouse in a 1900s denim factory. Including its separate 2-bedroom guest apartment, rooftop terrace, and basement with gym + office space, the condo spans over 6,000 sqft. Oh, and parking isn’t a problem with the 2-bay garage. Take a look around.

Community

The Germantown Kroger closed sooner than anticipated to undergo its six-month, $22 million renovation. To assist neighbors reliant on the grocer, the city and nonprofits have come together to provide food pantries, bus vouchers, and double benefits at the Nashville Farmers Market. See the full list of resources.

Active

The 129th Boston Marathon take offs today, April 21, but you don’t need to go to Massachusetts to lace up your running shoes. You can join one of Nashville’s run clubs to find movement that’s more your speed and help prepare for a future race.

Cause

Time to team up with the Titans. The Titans + Hands On are looking for volunteers on Saturday, May 3, for a large-scale Titans Together. See their plan to transform two local high schools.*
