Tennessee is preparing for potential severe weather this week, including wind, multiple rounds of rain, and storms.
A wind advisory is in effect for Davidson and surrounding counties from 10 a.m. today, April 2 to 4 a.m. tomorrow, April 3, cautioning 15 to 25 mph winds with gusts up to 40 mph. Wind advisories highlight the possibility of power outages and fallen tree limbs.
Other modes of weather:
Storms: Thunderstorms are expected to impact Middle Tennessee late tonight through early tomorrow morning. A slight risk (level 2 out of 5) is also in place for most of the region on Thursday “with all hazards possible,” according to NWS.
Rain: A flood watch is in effect from this evening through Sunday morning. Forecasts project 3 to 6 inches of rain across most of the watch area through the weekend, with northwest Middle Tennessee expected to see the highest totals.
Yesterday, NWS Nashville said: “Rain amounts will be heavily dependent on where a front sets up, so don’t be surprised if this gradient shifts farther north or south.”
