Welcome home, fellow Nashvillians.

U-Haul has released its 2024 mid-year report on migration trends, tracking the origins of U-Haul trucks arriving in the 25 most populated cities in the US, including Nashville. Let’s take a look at who’s moved into our city from where — and if you’re new around here, we’ve got even more to share.
So, where are folks coming from? According to U-Haul, here are the top three metropolitan areas outside our state that people are moving to Music City from:
  • Atlanta, GA
  • Dallas/Fort Worth, TX (oh hey, DALtoday + FTWtoday)
  • Birmingham, AL
Welcome to Tennessee, friends. But that’s not all — our fellow Tennesseans are also moving around quite a bit. Here are the top three cities within Tennessee that U-Haul customers are arriving to Nashville from:
  • Knoxville
  • Memphis
  • Clarksville

Home sweet home

Now that you’re here, stay a while. If you’re a newcomer — or even a longtime local who loves staying in the loop — check out our City Guides for everything there is to know about Nashville.

This batch could be especially helpful as you settle in to local life:
If you know someone who’s new to our city, invite them to subscribe to our NASHtoday newsletter — the more, the merrier.

Correction
  • On your mark, get set, let’s make a correction to yesterday’s story on local run clubs. In addition to Donelson Run Club’s Monday Morning Mug and Tuesday Evening Trot runs, the club meets at Bagelshop for a Second Saturday Bagel Run — not Sunday as previously reported.

Despite us sharing our fall plan ahead last week, you might still be in summer mode after the intense heat we had. If that’s the case + you’re looking to dip your toes in the water and try something new (pun intended) — here’s a look at my day spent at Wines in the Fork.
