We all know that Nashville has a vibrant art scene — and we’re not just talking about the Frist Art Museum. One of our all-time favorite galleries? Music City itself.

The 615 is home to a number of meaningful murals. Today, we’re sharing where to find pieces that really paint a picture of our city.

Molly Green, Belcourt Avenue and 21st Avenue South | By Tarabella Aversa

This mural was commissioned to celebrate Molly Green’s 10th anniversary as a company and the opening of the 21st Avenue South location in 2019. In the words of the artist: “I wanted to create a wall that screamed happiness and new beginnings with a little bit of a disco cowgirl twist.”

25 Years, 25 Dogs, 1812 21st Ave. S. | By Meg Pie Pollard

Fido, housed in a former pet store, opened in 1996 as part of the Bongo Java family. Staying true to its name, the coffee shop celebrated its 25th anniversary with this mural facing the back parking lot. Check it out on your next visit — after you pick up a coffee and McFido, of course.

This mural featuring Minnie Pearl, Jimi Hendrix, Little Richard, and other musical greats is a ray of sunshine in one of the park’s tunnels. The creation is a part of Mural Park at Capitol View, a multi-phase project to paint the CSX tunnels around the community.

Beyond the pop of color under the bridge, this stretch of the Gulch Greenway includes an extended off-street trail and a bicycle maintenance station.
