A Message From Our Team
NASHtoday staff here. We’ve got a goal to raise $3,000 by the end of this week to support our staff and operations. Fun fact: We’ve turned down more than a million dollars in political ads since we first started. We’re that serious about our brand promise.

This election year, we promise to keep your morning news read unbiased, stress-free, and focused on the thing you care about: knowing what’s going on in our city. That means no political ads. Help support our approach to local journalism and give to our fundraising campaign today.

From Saturday, May 11 (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) through Sunday, May 12 (11 a.m.-5 p.m.), the City of Hendersonville will host its inaugural Hendersonville Arts Festival at Sanders Ferry Park.

The free community gathering will bring 75+ artisans from Middle Tennessee and beyond to showcase paintings, photography, fine jewelry, ceramics, glass, and other works. Bonus: You can also expect demonstrations from Nashville Drum Art and The Longest Thread.

For the kids

The Creative Zone featuring hands-on activities with organizations like the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and Nashville Children’s Theatre is open until 3 p.m. both days.
  • Come hungry, here’s who’s serving up festival fare.
  • Art has a range of mediums, bookmark the entertainment schedule to hear from area musicians.
  • Know before you go: Here’s a map showing you where to park (that’s free, too) and find festival highlights.

The Buy

Lume Acidified Body Wash, which is supposed to remove odor better than soap thanks to its key ingredient: mandelic acid. Choose from scents like clean tangerine or go unscented for sensitive skin types.

Answered

Last week, we asked you, “How far are you willing to travel for experiences like berry picking?”

Here’s what we’ve learned: Our readers will travel to be a part of the action — and they love their Middle Tennessee neighbors.

Over half of you who responded to our poll said you don’t mind traveling to bordering counties (in that case, make sure you read about this weekend’s art fest in Hendersonville up above). The next highest number of votes at 16% went to, “Road trip! I’ll drive to anywhere in Middle Tennessee or beyond if it’s worth it.”

Nearly 11% of respondents get their event fix right here in Davidson County, or just prefer to stay home.
