Putting your local love on the map. | Graphic by NASHtoday
For Valentine’s Day, we made a map of local places where our readers have made memories. We asked for your help compiling everything from proposals to making friends — and you did not disappoint.
Before clicking on the hearts to explore all of the love stories on our map, there are a few we just had to share.

First Horizon Park
My now husband and I had our first date at a Nashville Sounds game in April 2016. We bought drinks at The Band Box and just walked around the concourse, talking about everything and occasionally stopping to watch the game. We eventually sat in our seats in like the 8th inning. It was the best first date to get to know someone — and by the end when we hugged in the parking lot, I knew I wanted to get to know him a lot better! — Jess F.
Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row
A few years ago, me and my best friend were visiting Nashville. We both looked at each other on the rooftop of Whiskey Row after a drink (or four) and said we could move here and agreed! We did end up moving here together a year or so later, and it’s been the best time. — Brittany H.
Belcourt Theater
Had our first date at the Belcourt Theater. We had originally intended to see a documentary film about fungi and mushrooms, but it had stopped showing the day before. We pivoted and went to see a movie we knew nothing about — “Parasite.” It was such a thrilling movie, we barely noticed each other there! It still made for a great first date, and we’re still together four years later. Now every anniversary we watch “Parasite.” — Anonymous reader

Each year, Record Store Day announces an ambassador (or ambassadors) to represent the annual event celebrating indie record stores. This year, the honor is bestowed upon Paramore.
The rock group, which formed 20 years ago in Franklin, now stands among former RSD ambassadors such as Taylor Swift, Pearl Jam, and Jack White.
“Our first order of business as a freshly independent Paramore is to shine a light on independent record stores, a vital part of our journey from music obsessed school friends to professional music makers,” the band said in a statement.
If you can’t wait for this year’s Record Store Day on Saturday, April 20, stop by Grimey’s to see the shop’s new mural celebrating Paramore as ambassadors.

I’ve discovered a new reason to love 8th & Roast. The local coffee shop launched a new “Beats & Beans” playlist, curated by the staff and inspired by its featured coffees. This month’s “Love Songs Edition” features so many of my favorites — Jeff Buckley, Prince, Billie Holiday, and Tears for Fears, to name a few.
