Nashville ranks on Tripadvisor’s 2025 top destinations list

Music City is no stranger to accolades, and we’ve done it again, folks.

Nashville landed a spot on Tripadvisor’s Top Destinations in the US list — coming in hot at No. 7. The city is recognized by the 2024 Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best for its “creative spirit” and is in the company of coastal cities like Charleston, SC and Miami Beach, as well as Asheville, NC and Sedona, AZ.

Of course, we know why Nashville is great, but what local attractions make Music City a top destination according to travelers? Our city earned high marks for its:
Speaking of the restaurant landscape, Nashville ranked No. 6 on the company’s 2024 list for Top Food Destinations in the US. Some of the highest-rated local spots on the platform are Midtown Cafe, Pelato, 1 Kitchen Nashville, Bourbon Steak, and Luogo.

According to Tripadvisor, Best of the Best winners are destinations with hotels, restaurants, and things to do that receive a high volume of “above-and-beyond reviews and opinions” from users over the course of a year.

Fun fact: Fewer than 1% of Tripadvisor’s 8 million listings are awarded Best of the Best rankings.

  • Nashville’s Maru Sushi & Grill plans to open at Emblem Park, a mixed-use development under construction at 1414 4th Ave. S. The restaurant, which has locations in East Nashville, the Nations, and Hendersonville, will occupy 2,500 sqft of the development. (Nashville Post)
Sports
  • The Nashville Kats found their quarterback — Ramone Atkins, who was named the 2022 Indoor Football League Rookie of the Year. The team’s season opens April 27 at Nashville Municipal Auditorium. Prior to that, the Kats will host open tryouts on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Lipscomb Academy.

  • The Milwaukee Brewers announced the Nashville Sounds coaching staff for the 2024 season, naming Rick Sweet manager, his fifth year in that role. In case you missed it, Sweet became the winningest manager in franchise history last season. Meet the other coaches.
Closing
  • Franklin restaurant and bar Izzy’s is set to close next month. The family-owned eatery at 901 Columbia Ave. debuted its “feel good food” concept in fall 2020 with burgers, specialty pasta dishes, and more. Izzy’s last day of service is Saturday, Feb. 10.

  • Ice Cream for Breakfast Day is coming up on Saturday, Feb. 3, and we’ve got the scoop on where to celebrate. Hattie Jane’s Creamery is throwing a pajama party at its Donelson, Murfreesboro, and Columbia locations + hosting a special pop-up at Egghill (1201 Villa Pl.) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
